Onana was dropped for Cameroon's last group stage game of the Africa Cup of Nations, seeing Fabrice Ondoa take his place for the second time in the competition. The Manchester United shot stopper could be called back into the starting XI for the last-16 match against Nigeria but Song would not reveal his decision.

The Cameroon manager said at a press conference: "I have no problem with my goalkeepers. They are all competitive and ready to respond when they need to play. There is no controversy. They get along very well."

Onana was left out of the Cameroon team for the first game of the competition after he arrived at the national team's camp late, having been given permission to feature for United against Tottenham in the Premier League. The 27-year-old reacted angrily to being dropped and lashed out at the coaching staff.
