Maddison revealed to TNT Sports: "I just said to him he probably hasn't scored enough goals of his own in the last few years to have his own celebration so he had to copy mine. Short story, but it ended well for us anyway."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Maddison is a keen darts enthusiast and has incorporated the celebration into his goal-scoring rituals since his time at Leicester. TNT Sports pundit Peter Crouch, humorously remarked that he witnessed more dart throws in the football game than at Alexandra Palace during the World Darts Championships as Johnson and Richarlison also pulled out the move.
